One of our favorites places to photograph is Milton Lee Olive Park, near Navy Pier. You take a beautiful walking trail across Lake Michigan, and the scenery there is like no other. A perfect view of the Chicago Skyline, a view unlike any other. This quintessential Chicago Landmark is typically open in the summer and fall months. The best time to photograph there is one hour before sunset, as the earth’s star sets just behind the skyline, giving us all of the golden hour eye-candy!

Another popular favorite spot is Green Street Smoked Meats, in the courtyard. This courtyard is unique because it features mood lighting, complete with edison bulbs, as well as greenery and exposed brick. The best time to photograph here is in the winter months, since there are less folks dining outside. 

Finally, my favorite place to photograph in Chicago’s museum campus is the Field Museum. With white marble staircases, parisian influence in the molded decor, and beautiful prairie restoration gardens, this focal piece is essential to preserving Chicago’s natural history. The proceeds of this location go towards preserving ancient artifacts that you will see throughout their grounds, such as giant dinosaurs and natural wildlife refuges. After all, Chicago is home to the largest migratory bird sanctuary due to Lake Michigan!
