Jacky & Hasumi started dating ten years ago, when they were both studying to be data analysts at The University of Michigan. Their love bloomed over time, and immediately upon meeting, they were smitten. They share a beautiful life together in New York City, where both of their families, as well as mine, immigrated to. When Hasumi entered the penthouse, walking down the aisle to the music from Spirited Away played on violin, Jacky had so much love in his eyes. He could not wipe the smile off of his face throughout the entire ceremony. The ceremony featured reference to Hasumi and Jacky’s favorite New York elements, such as Billy Crystal and their love song by Billy Joel. Hasumi’s family flew in from Japan, and was adorned in traditional Japanese attire for the beautifully simplistic event. Champagne service followed the unique ceremony. The couple and I bonded over our love for architecture, pharmacy, ethical practices, and Billy Joel. I feel extremely blessed to have shared in their day, and am looking forward to creating more photographic art in their future.
