Cole and I got married on the luckiest day of the year. 7-18-21, are all lucky numbers both in Vegas and Jewish tradition. The one thing missing from our wedding was my father, who passed away from brain cancer this March. He was shining down from heaven on our cocktail-style event, and I carried his handkerchief down the aisle on my bouquet. He would always use that handkerchief to dry his tears at weddings, and I know he would be so proud of me. My new husband is just the salt of the earth; greatest guy. My dad was so happy to get to know him during his life, and to give his blessing for my hand in marriage. Our wedding took place at the Colvin house, photographed by my associate photographers. You know, at a wedding photographer’s wedding, everyone is family, including the vendors. We had such a blast and the joy really comes through in the photos. One of the final parts our our day, before our sparkler exit, was playing the video I had filmed dancing with my dad in my autumn wedding dress back in October of 2020 before he passed. You can see in the room that there was not a dry eye around. It was heartbreaking not to have him there, but I know he walks with me every step. Down the aisle, into married life, and every day.
