Wedding Photography FAQ

You’ve never planned a wedding before, and it can be a lot to think about! Here are my answers to the most frequent questions I get :)

Q: How many hours of coverage will I get?

A: I have done anywhere from 2-12, depending on your needs! Make sure to contact me for a nicely packaged plan :)

Q: Why is photography so expensive?

A: This is my full time job! Your investment pays for top of the line gear, gallery delivery, editing software, website hosting, travel to your location, client gifts, and more! :)

Q: What kind of gear do you use?

A: I shoot with 2 canon 5D Mark IV cameras, 2 Canon 580 EX II flash bodies, 1 Canon 100mm Macro lens, 1 Canon 85mm 1.8 lens, and 1 Canon 24-70 2.8 lens. I also provide all of the necessary stying boards, ring boxes, accents, and creativity to ensure your day is captured perfectly from the getting ready details to that final dance!

Q: Are you a light and airy photographer?

A: I am a fine art photographer, and most often shoot bright, joyful images. I also love historic locations that look dreamy on camera with dark, wooden tones. That being said, I don’t limit myself while still providing a consistent experience and image. What matters to me most is prioritizing beautiful images where YOU look amazing in the location you chose to highlight!

Q: I love your work, but can’t afford your services! What should I do?

A: Please do still contact me! We will figure out an experience that fits your budget, and the rest will work out :) I also recommend vendors based on style and budget to ensure your needs are met all around.

Q: I want to book you! What’s the next step?

A: First of all, YAY! I am SO excited :) Once your wedding date is secured, you can sign your proposal, put down your 50% retainer, and… woohoo! I’m yours!

Q: Will we meet in person before our session?

A: I believe that genuine interactions are super important to your wedding day success! I would love to chat over coffee, Facetime, or a cocktail to get to know you better. I apply the engagement session to every wedding day package so that we can get to know each other better through shooting!

Q: Do you give welcome gifts?

A: I like to surprise my clients randomly with cute things in the mail and in your email inbox, from the initial inquiry to the day of your wedding :)

Q: How long have you been photographing weddings?

A: Since 2011!

Q: Did you go to school for photography?

A: Briefly, but 80% of my work is self taught, and mentored by other fine art wedding photographers nationwide!

Q: How soon after our shoot will I see the photos?

A: 1-4 weeks is a good rule of thumb for weddings. Sometimes after portrait sessions, I am able to deliver the photos on the same day as our shoot!
