Tell me about this referral surprise!
I believe that with each individual being different and wonderful, each client that refers a booked wedding to Mandelette should receive something unique to their personality and taste!
How many weddings do you shoot per month?
I believe in quality over quantity, so I only book up to 2 weddings per month.
Will you be our photographer, or someone else?
I will of course be your photographer! My second shooters come from my amazing Mandelette team, and I hand-select them based on your wedding vibe.
Where will we have our session?
I travel anywhere! I have a few places that I frequent, but I love going to new places! I will travel within the Chicago Metro area for no additional charge.
What should I wear to my session?
I send a comprehensive style guide to all of my clients to take the pressure off of wardrobe decisions! Included are hair and makeup tips, as well as style for families, couples, and individual models :)
Do you accept credit cards?
Yes! I can accept your photography payment on the date of service, and will also accept credit card deposits upon contract signing, at our meet and greet, or at our engagement session.
What camera do you use?
I shoot with a Canon 5D Mark IV, Canon 6D, and various lenses.
How to you choose your associate photographers?
I hold a phone and in-person interview, review the candidate's portfolio, and hold a trial session before I bring on a photographer as a second shooter. The candidate must have experience photographing people, low light situations, and movement. If you would like to work as an associate photographer, please contact me!
Did you go to school for photography?
Very briefly. 95% of my business was self taught, and mentored by other wedding photographers!
How long have you been shooting?
I first picked up a DSLR camera in 2010, but I have been practicing wedding photography professionally for almost 5 years! In this time, I have worked as a second shooter and lead.
Will we meet or speak before I book with you?
I always like to put a face to the name before signing a contract. Each wedding is unique, and I want to make sure to address your needs and make you feel comfortable!
How do you get your photos to look so natural?
I pose my clients a certain way at our portrait sessions, and act like a fly on the wall at wedding ceremonies and receptions!
