How to learn OCF, a lesson for beginners

FILED IN:

Photography Education

Hello there!

So you know how to use your flash at receptions, but you want to have the proper equipment and training to shoot a full wedding day in any type of reception space. I have included my resources below that I use to train our team, and also myself as to how to use off-camera-flash. I do not get a commission for any of these tips or links, but I am open to it if you want to slide into my DM’s, Amazon! Happy learning!

OCF for beautiful light:

-This blog post single handedly taught me OCF

-This OCF strobe lights up literally any room, and is pretty cost effective

-Here are my fav flashes. If you are a canon user, make sure you buy the ones with a C- before the name. For Nikon, buy the N-. I accidentally bought Sony flashes once (S-), on accident and it was rough!

-You will need these flash triggers to sync your strobe and on-body flashes

-I can’t live without this mag bounce 🙂 Here are the magnets for it that attach right onto your flash 🙂

-Finally, you will need these light stands to hold your flash or strobe in place, and up high at a 45 degree angle behind the dance floor or subject

Thanks for joining in the OCF family! Hope you have a great day 🙂
